April Means Silver Saturdays?

Hello Skiers and Boarders,

As the season is winding down, it doesn't mean that it is over.  For the next three Saturdays in April, Silver Mountain in Kellogg, Idaho will be conducting their Silver Saturdays Spring Skiing days.  Silver is the only mountain open in the region, and will continue to be open for the rest of April every Saturday as long as conditions allow it to remained operating.

Silver Saturdays offer a number of different fun events on the mountain.  The terrian park will be open and in full service with the runs groomed to prefection.  Enjoy a quick bit to eat  or drink in Moguls Bar and Grill in the Mountain Haus, and don't forgot your sunblock.  The tubbing park will also be operating of the tubers out their.  Skiing in the Spring can produce some serious sunburns in not properly protected.  If you want to head to the mountain, but not ski go, to Silver Rapids indoor waterpark if snow is not your thing.

For more infomation on Silver Saturdays go to www.silvermt.com.  See you on the slopes.  It won't last much longer!!!!

  1. It is hard to believe the slopes will be (or are planned to be) opened until the end of April. Is their mostly real or man-made snow? (or do you even have to make snow up there?) I have never been tubing (on the snow), but it looks like lots of fun! Enjoy your next few weekends on the slopes.

  2. I LOVE tubing and didn't get to go this year! Sad, especially considering that they opened a family tubing place about 30 minutes from me. My favorite memory of skiing and tubing is when I was visiting family in Boston. I couldn't believe the amount of real snow and how powdery it was! The experience was a lot different that it is here in the South. Thanks for sharing about Silver Saturdays!

  3. Nancy,
We still have plenty of snow in the mountains here, but it is not fresh and a little slushy. Still a ton of fun though. You can practically ski in shorts and a t-shirt if the sun is out. It is all real snow. It will be a blast. Jeff
